I was in Phoenix for a week and managed to get in a couple of hikes....
I've hiked Camelback lots of times since it is right in the middle of Scottsdale and doesn't take a lot of time. This particular day was great, the November weather is just about the right temperature for getting outside there. I started on the Cholla side because parking is much easier, although I was still almost a mile from the actual trailhead. It's a mostly unremarkable hike, although in the higher reaches a couple of options can lead to some exposure while climbing the rocky section. I happened to take one of them, but it turned out to have a great view when I popped out onto a ridge. After hanging out on the summit long enough to have a little snack I walked back down with about a hundred other people.
Nice clouds to keep things cool near the beginning of the trail.
Getting into the more technical section, "trail" goes along the ridge.
View north to Phoenix Mountain Park area.
Looking back at the trail I came up.
View of Squaw Peak looking roughly west.
