How long can you hike in the parking lot next to hogback?

AFAIK, you can park there as long as you like. I would display an Adventure Pass if you have one. The Adventure Pass requirement is somewhat murky now after a court ruling.

I've read interpretations that as long you don't use facilities like bathrooms, picnic tables, etc, you don't need a pass. I still display mine whenever there is any doubt.

If you're just hiking no parking permit is required.

I'd be more concerned my vehicle would be burglarized or have parts stolen than and thing else

The parking lot for Barrett-Stoddard off Baldy Road isn't real safe. Lotta window breaking and thing-stealing goes on there. I'll never park there again.
