Today was a doggie play-date with uber-dog Talus, and Tracie. My pup, Ripley, hadn't been to Baldy yet, and is only 7 months old, so the ski hut was the destination rather than the summit.

Along the way we met Shin and Ellen! So fun, and what an 'auspicious' way to start what will be years of dog-hikes on the mountain.

The water near the hut still trickles clean and cold, and there were lots of friendly hikers who admired both dogs along the way. (And I was proud of Ripley's good behavior.)

Tracie put it best, when she said "Whatever is going on in life, when I'm up here, it all goes away." It's just fun, beautiful, and good to be out on a great day like this.

Our last dog was a Weimaraner, so I have a soft spot for them. Lots of energy, but I'm not sure ours would have climbed a boulder. Cool photos.
