My alarm didn't go off, so I got a late start (about noon). There were campers at Heaton Flats. It looked enjoyable.
The river was still flowing well! I would have enjoyed a dip in one of the pools if it wasn't already so late in the day.
Starting up the trail, the multiple suns were already high in the sky.
I found the trail quite lovely, although the warm weather recently had diminished the air quality somewhat.
After a few hours, I figured I ought to put on some sunscreen.
Though I did find patches of shade along the way, in the cool pines. We even saw some deer! What a treat
From the summit, the views were great in all directions.
I didn't take many pics on the way down, as it got dark and I needed to put some fleece on to ward off the chill! Anyway, it was a great trip and I don't understand why some people chose not to hike this weekend.

Howdy Cougar Magic
Thanks so much for the best laugh I've had in days
Even Citizen Kane is impressed
Your creative humor reminds me of posts by Cuzin Willie on the San Gorgonio board -- anyone know what happened to him?
My friends Hikin' Jim and Arocknoid seem have inherited a similar gift for hiking humor
Miles of smiles,
Ellen
PS Will be hiking on Baldy or thereabouts tomorrow since my 23 year old AC finally died. Riverside isn't the desert, but I'm still too hot.
