While hardly a mountain by our local standards, this 3400-ft peak has more elevation than the highest point in 19 states. We went from the Claremont Hills Wilderness Park (top of Mills Ave), making it a nine-mile round trip with about 1800 feet of elevation gain. It's a nice little workout for those days when the higher spots are covered in snow or clouds... However, we actually got a little hail/snow right when we left the summit at about 11:15. By the time we got to where the Angeles National Forest sign used to be it had turned to rain and the fire road had a nice little stream down the side.

Handful of pics from the day:

Still looks a little sunny as we turned onto the road up from CHWP.

New signage along the way. Potato hiding in the background.

More new signs. Evey Canyon is the alternate route off of Baldy Road.

Not to create more LNT discussion but there is always a flag and some potatoes on the water tank at the top.

Looking towards Baldy - not much of a view today.

Snow!

It was actually a pretty good day for hiking fast, we did the whole thing in 3:03 including about 15 minutes hanging around the top for a snack and chatting with another group. I met Hiker girl Joyce from the WPSMB, don't know if she's part of this board too but that was pretty cool.
