They make the same sound when calling for their young too.
One of those sounds I'd rather not hear when I'm in their home.

Wow--I know this is an old post, but it is valuable anyway! I'll never forget that sound now after watching this and will know it now if I ever hear it on the trail! (and hopefully I won't)
