Acme Mapper is great. I can plot points on a topo map and send them in an email or post them on a forum. I love it -- but it was having a problem earlier today. :(

Just in case, anyone got a good substitute? I'm familiar with G4map which is excellent, but I'm not aware of a way to easily plot points with G4map the way I can with Acme mapper.

http://caltopo.com/map.html

I've used this when ACME FU is FUbar. Right clicking seems to bring up marker options, but I do not know if you can send a link with markers.

Definitely better quality maps. The UI isn't quite as fast and as intuitive as Acme Mapper's. I'll have to play with it some.

Cal Topo looks like it just might be the way to go if Acme is floating belly up in the fish pond. You can in fact generate a web link (URL) such as this one: example route on a USGS topo map.
