Still doesn't make sense. I thought sea turtles were salt water-only type of animals.

There are lots of small pockets of wildlife in unusual places
There are Beaver in the San Bernardino Mtns

They're known to live in and near the mouth of the SG River between Seal Beach and Long Beach. The power plants just upstream along Studebaker Road probably help, as they discharge cooling water into the river to make it a nice warm environment.
