Hey guys,

Has anyone been up to Twin Peaks recently? Wondering if it's completely snow free now? I have a friend tag along without snow skills. I'm pretty sure it should be dry but wanted to check anyway.

Thanks!!!

Hiking from the waterman trail, is it all burned up and off limits?

I don't believe Twin Peaks burned (although lower down on the south and west sides it may have). I was up in Buckhorn/Cooper Canyon Saturday. No signs that I could see were posted at the Waterman trailhead indicating a closure, although I wouldn't put it past the FS to have a map in a drawer somewhere indicating closure.

This list says that the Three Points trailhead is open.

This map from January appears to indicate that Twin Peaks is closed but how they could hold anyone accountable based on a practically unreadable map like that is beyond me.

I've noticed that when it comes to the closure area, facts are inconsequential.

Good TR. Gives you a pretty good idea of what was affected by fire. Doesn't look like it would be particularly dangerous in that area since there is only relatively light fire damage, but it still may or may not be officially closed.

I resolve to be a bit more helpful and less obtuse...

Here's a thread that Matt started with a couple of links to clear, legible maps of the current closure area. Do with it what you want.
