Has anyone been up the East Fork of the San Gabriel River today? My son started yesterday (an over-nighter) from Vincent Gap to the East Fork ranger station. I expected to hear from him by now (Sunday, 5:00 pm), and my dad-anxiety is kicking in. He's about 5-11, thin build, and has curly red hair. His backpack is dark green and black. He's with a friend. If you've been up there and seen him, I'd sure appreciate a note.

I don't know this person and haven't seen him...

But it's pretty early to hit the panic button

One hour is nothing

Having made this this trip myself last year when the water was lower I'd expect it would take more time to make all the river crossings you have to make.

I'm guessing he has a headlight, and extra food?

There is plenty of water

No worries, yet.

I just got the call. Everything is fine; they had to turn around and head back up to Vincent Gap.
