This bird was enjoying a hot air vent coming up canyon from the valley below. I think he/she also had a meal over the side of the road because it seemed a bit protective of the area. It was probably not protecting a nest - there was no suitable site and there were 5 or 6 birds circling before I parked the car. In the distance you can see Santiago and Modjeska Peaks in the Cleveland National Forest.

I beg to differ with the opinion that that is the best San Gabriel Mountain video ever. I realize it's a little stale, but check out...

Very nice video dude(s). Strange though. Where can one find buckthorn, yucca and manzanita in the San Gabriels?

Thanks everyone for the memories. This was such a great season! Some of the pics just about bring me to tears with joy. Such great memories with such great friends. Thanks so much!

The song is a favorite of mine, one I always hear in my head when I think of Alpinism and beautiful mountains. Never Gone, by Adam Nickey.

Nice tribute Taco, I'm humbled by all the friends and routes that I've been allowed to tag along with and on, I've learned more this Fall/Winter/Spring about how to do things right, than all the previous years combined.

I want to thank each and everyone of you for that, what a great snow season it's been. :D :D I'm lucky and blessed to have made such good friends :D

Nice seeing your season in review, though.
But does this post mean you've hung up your 'pons for the year?

Nope, though I'm kinda content with the amount of snow I've been in contact with.

Focusing on rock skillz. Wanna be able to push COMFORTABLY this season, and do harder climbs next winter.
