I just got back from the High Sierra Trail (Crescent Meadow-Whitney Portal.) Since I've done the entire JMT, I may have a slightly skewed perspective...but I thought this trail was easy and not terribly scenic. Don't get me wrong, there were some lovely spots, but my jaw never hit the ground the way it does farther north in the Sierra. It was still a darn fun trip! Yawn. Oh, you know, those boring old High Sierra trails. If you've seen one, you've seen 'em all.

Liz, you need to get out less often.

The JMT is a tough act to follow

They all have their charms to me and while some are nicer than other's I generally just enjoy getting out and exploring new places.

Looks wonderful esp compared with the ravaged San Gabriel Mtns

Awesome.

I'm doing that route in August of next year. Been planning it for about 20 years.
