Baldy Bowl with He219 and Sashimi
Best Baldy trip I've ever done. We all had a great time. Met a bunch of cool folks all day long.
Some pics:
Ushanka and the Bowl

Lightning Couloir on the left
Dude going up one of the chutes
Korean lady moving up, in com's with a few other Korean and one Japanese climbers.
Up top in the rocks

Sashimi
Sashimi walking down
Patterns
Sashimi walking down south ridge
"Into the garbage chute, flyboy!" (guess where that quote came from and win a strange usertitle)
Edge
Over Goode Canyon
The whiteout cometh
Numba wun perspective of the day
Thanks Chris and Fritz, yesterday kicked ass!
Video up later.

Are you sure you want to go around quoting Princess Leia?TacoDelRio wrote:"Into the garbage chute, flyboy!" (guess where that quote came from and win a strange usertitle)
Too bad you already have a title.HikeUp wrote:Are you sure you want to go around quoting Princess Leia?TacoDelRio wrote:"Into the garbage chute, flyboy!" (guess where that quote came from and win a strange usertitle)
Lilbitmo, I've seen rocks the size of ambulances fall in the Bowl.
Nice pix Taco, et al. That was kinda cool when the clouds rolled in. We could hear people screaming and shouting in strange languages, apparently trying to locate each other. And then we'd hear the occasional rockfall, only to see basketball-sized boulders whiz by us moments later, maybe a tad too close for comfort.
If anyone in your group happened to pick up a pair of sunglasses sitting next to the fire road at the ski hut trail junction, they're mine .

Cool pics. LIghtinging Couloir still looks inviting. The next cold spell we get, I'm there. Maybe have to do it in the dark so temps are low to minimize rockfall.
You guys had some nice weather, except the late clouds, but that can be fun too.
Taco - Looks like we need to plan our summit sushi party again. Actually, how about jsut a summit saki party? Just not this Saturday. I already got plans for some snow somewhere.

Cool eh?
EnFuego, dude, I've got new tools coming in, so I'm down later... got jury duty soon so I dunno when.
You got jury duty? Man, how'd you swing that one? Lucky guy whoever is on trial. I"m sure whatever he did, you'll free him.TacoDelRio wrote:EnFuego, dude, I've got new tools coming in, so I'm down later... got jury duty soon so I dunno when.
I gotta order two new tools. Zach, Alex and I are planning a few trips in Sierras before the BIG ONE!!!! Let's hit it up soon. Maybe a very early start - 5am. Top out close to gray light then traverse a couple of the peaks there. What'cha say? I'm sure Zach is in too.
