the resorts are reporting 10" as of 11am. Should be > 1' above 9k.

Many thanks for all the nice thoughts! I will be getting a snow blower as soon as I'm able as my posture is now stuck in the most grossly stooped over positon after 5hrs of shoveling.

I would say we got 15-18" of snow today.

It was earily quiet up here, as the roads up to town were all closed,(Many jack-knifed big-rigs near the 138/2 intersection I'm told) and there was snow on the Cajon pass. This prevented the snow plows from clearing the Hwy until the afternoon. So I did not attempt to get down the hill today.
Probably won't need to wash the car 'til after Christmas.

its supposed to be 38* on wednesday night in huntington beach!

if this new storm is so, the snow levels will be 2,000 ft!

SNOW LEVELS NEAR 3000 FEET ON TUESDAY...THEN COULD DROP TO NEAR BETWEEN 1000 AND 2000 FEET ON WEDNESDAY. THIS COULD BRING SNOW TO THE HIGHER VALLEY ELEVATIONS AND FOOTHILLS...INCLUDING THE ANTELOPE VALLEY. AREAS THAT HAVE CLEAR SKIES AND CALM WINDS WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY MORNINGS WILL LIKELY HAVE HARD FREEZES INCLUDING THE VALLEYS AND INLAND COASTAL SECTIONS.

Mt. Wilson cam reported 14" of snow total by 5:00p. Wow.

Well, last night was certainly a fizzle. The snow level was down to about 1500' and I live at about 2000' -- but the storm dilly dallied and didn't get here until this morning, so rain on the drive into work, but no snow last night.

I think it might get better tonite

Just got a quick look at the lower flanks of Saddleback here from the flatlands. Lots of snow evident there. Can't see the peak.
Portola Hills looks clear, but close.
I'd say that the snow level is about 1500 feet or so right now in the OC.
It's only 47º at my house; I'm sure the snow/ice level will drop later.

We'll be bringing our livestock inside tonight (fortunately, it's only rabbits and dogs - not the goat we'll have in the spring)

Stay warm and enjoy.
I'm going for a wet run tonite - then I'll take my own advice.

Took a drive up to Baldy Village today a little after noon. Snow is falling and staying on the ground at the tunnels (about 3K) and baldy Village is looking like a winter wonderland!
Hopefully lots more on the way!

Here in Pasadena, I can see the snow level is very low, somewhere about 1500' to 2000', something like that. I got just a glimpse as the clouds parted.

I'll bet that places like Echo Mtn. are getting snow right now, possibly even Henninger Flats.

If you go to abc7.com and look at their traffic map, there is an orange marker on ACH that seems to imply they've closed it (for plowing) at Angeles Forest Hwy:

Sounds like Saturday is going to be a nice day for a hike, but what about avalanche danger?

My brother-in-law will be coming into town tomorrow, so I'm not sure I can get away Saturday. Sunday is reserved for shooting in the desert (promises to be a great day for it).

Snow might also be kind of deep, might be better if I let you ironmen go on ahead and trample the trails down a bit.

Uncle!! Enough already, on the snow!

Epic snowfall! Probably 4 feet or so, according to my wife. I have to take her word for it, since I'm stuck in Acton, where they received over a foot of snow.
Maybe we could stretch this out over a couple months next time!

Here in Palmdale (2000 ft) we got hammered! I can only imagine what our side of the SG's got. Probably 7-8 inches where I live, snowed all day and only stopped about an hour ago. I've never seen snow fall like this in Palmdale. You can go outside and listen for about 5 minutes before you hear a tree limb crack and break under the foreign weight.
