Nice report. I remember when Sean and I hiked through skull Canyon it was both exhausting and fun. I like the picture of the Tiger Lilly

Re: Thor Peak

Thank you for showing me the awesome Mountaineer's route. This was by far my toughest hike ascending that gully with some awesome rock climbing obstacles that were challenging, but I am happy that I succeeded. This hike kicked ass!

Re: Angelus Oaks to Idyllwild Death March - unsuccessful attempt, trip report and photos

Awesome Trip Report! Nice Pics! I have never seen a gecko before, that's a cool pic. It's too bad your leg pain caused you to bail. I am confident that you would have completed your Death March. Don't give up! Damn gaiters! Now, I will think twice about mine because I've felt something similar but I...

This was a very long but cool hike. My favorite part was the last climb up to the summit of Condor Peak.

Yes David, there are actually 3 approaches to Eagle Rest but we decided to take the strenuous route because we are CRAZY. We are planning on doing this again next year from the canyon below, which is a straight shot up to the summit.

Re: Eagle Rest Pk 6005' w/ Antimony Peak & A Big, Bad-Ass, Butt-Kicking Hump along the way

Dima, this is your kind of adventure but it was definitely tiresome. Eagle Rest is on the Sierra Club Peak List. Here's some history... Peak Name History [borrowed from the Sierra Club Hundred Peaks Website]: According to long time area resident Ed Callaway, the peak name was borrowed from local usa...

Eagle Rest Pk 6005' w/ Antimony Peak & A Big, Bad-Ass, Butt-Kicking Hump along the way

I hiked one of the toughest hikes in the Los Padres National Forest. A year ago we hiked up to Antimony Pk and I remember discussions of one day hiking to Eagle Rest. Well last Sunday was the day. We met at 7:30am and carpooled to the trailhead of Antimony Pk. We started the hike around 8:30am. The...

Landscape Arch, Double O Arch and the Primitive Trail Moab, Utah Day 3

I woke up early and drove to the Devils Garden Campground, which is located at the very tail end of the Arches National Park. What a difference in pictures when the sun is shining on the rocks! I had spent the last two days under the gloomy skies with the sun going in 'n out. It lightly rained the ...

Balance Rock, The Windows and the Double Arch Moab, Utah Day 2

On the second day in Utah, I checked out Balance Rock, the Windows (North & South), Turret Arch and Double Arch. Balance Rock was an easy stroll from the parking lot. The Windows was a farther drive but worth it. There was alot to explore in this area. This was an easy loop hike. The Double Arc...

Delicate Arch Moab, Utah Day 1

Last month, I spent 4 lovely days in Moab, Utah. I hiked in the Arches National Park. This is my 3rd time visiting Utah, and my goal is to check out all the wonders that Utah has to offer. I woke up early on a Friday and left my house at 4am. Knowing that it was a 10-hour drive, I was planning to a...
