Here be Part 1 of my new, potentially infinite series of Alive reports from the mountains. This time I visited Rubio Canyon during recent storm and saw trails while much water roared from creekbed. Kickass.

Kids don't get high and hike after significant rains unless you have cookies from 7-11 with you.

I like the original sound, and no epic soundtrack.
But as far as Rubio canyon, you'll get a stern warning about failing to mention flooding.
Going further would have been a whole nother discussion. Just put a giant skull and bones.

Yep. I only made it a short ways beyond the ruins. There was way too much water and crumbling slopes for safe passage beyond that point. I witnessed a small slide lower down. I'm sure there's plenty of fresh material up near the waterfalls.

Definitely. We should probably stage the solid ones nearby for future use.

Let me know when you want to go. Good chance I could help any day of the week.

Rubio this afternoon. Snuck out during a brief break in the rain. Trail to pavilion is clear and in great shape. The canyon floor has new debris, but pretty passable and no significant landslides. Did not see a soul.
