Newton & Latigo Canyon

Last week I ventured out to another portion of the backbone trail. We started at Newton Canyon but this time hiking above Tunnel # 1 to Latigo Canyon trail up to the Castro peak motorway. My friend invited me to check out the portion of the trail opposite of what we hiked the previous week when we did Buzzard's Roost. Anyways, this side of the trail was so beautiful with lots of wildflowers. We were surrounded by lush green grass and hills. We had the trail all to ourselves for an early Sunday Morning until we finished by 11 am. As we were descending the trail we could see the parking lot was full and with overflow parking on Kanan road. Majority of people were descending down the other side of Newton canyon.
