Does anyone know of a route up to these two points that doesn't involve the long walk up San Sevaine road? I'm imagining a gully or ridge route for shorter (and more exciting!) access, but haven't found any non-ancient trip reports. Asking... for a friend...

Depends on how exciting your friend can deal with, but Etiwanda ridge looks to be the consensus attack from the south.

Thanks for your response. I'm the friend inquiring, Dima posted for me because I didn't have time to do so yesterday. I found the SGV Hikers meetup report separately and we plan on taking that Etiwanda ridge route up.

The video of the guy plowing through sticker bushes makes this look like a real fun hike. Maybe bring a machete?
