My wife and I spent a couple of days in Lone Pine doing the things we always wanted to do, but never had time because we had bigger fish to fry.

We visited the Manzanar Historic Site (Japanese internment camp) north of Lone Pine. That was interesting and kind of sad.

We visited the Western Museum of Film History. Well worth it. It was deep and had a lot of memorabilia, cars, props, and stuff shot around the Alabama Hills.

We climbed the Alabama Hills High Point which is near a famous early scene from Iron Man. Then, we did the Mobius Arch loop, a short trail (<1mi), but crowded.

On the way out, we visited the Shark's Fin, an iconic rock climb with a Sierra back drop. I think the easiest route is a 5.7 sport climb, which would be stretch for me. Some of the intrepid climbers here have probably climbed it.

Thanks for the report and photos. I've been watching a lot of old Westerns lately and recognize many scenes in the Alabama Hills with Whitney in the background. Gotta get my butt to the museum sometime.
