Hi all,

I was re-reading the below thread. Anybody try to make it to Brown's Flat in recent years? I may take the mtn bike and eyeball around, but no way I have the juice to actually thrash my way in....

You need to form a gang and go murder that brush.

I would love to make an attempt to get there. It's been on my bucket list

Maybe starting at the Potato Mtn trailhead would be one's best bet? It would be a big day!

I think the "standard" route has been via the western trailhead/fire road for Sunset Peak. Since the road is closed now it may be best to go from Potato, but that's not really a trailhead. No parking at the Evey Canyon fire road so we're left to park near the National Forest sign along Baldy Road or the alternate to that is parking down near the Wilderness Park in Claremont. As a resident I get free parking although only six hours which probably isn't enough. There is another option in Claremont near Sycamore Canyon, of course all these just add more time/distance to the trek. Whoever wants to attempt this is welcome to stay at my house the night before or after. (or both)
