Fun fact: next to the article about the mountains is an article about the Titanic, which had just sunk. It's on the right.

24 hours and a room at the Alpine Tavern just to climb San G. Man, you really had to be dedicated to hike back in them days.

This sounds fun. Next group hike?
Reading old stuff in quite an experience, the language is so much different. I liked this line: "The man who sees all the mountain beauties that have been described may become weary in his bones, but he will be refreshed in his soul".

This is a cool article.

I, though, am not as impressed with San Gabriel Peak as I am with all of the surrounding peaks (Disappointment, Markham, and Lowe). I think the views, etc. from the nearby peaks are just better.

But hike your own hike and let me just fuck off.
