Fall colors hike around Jackson Lake

On Wednesday I hiked with my usual crazies group. We met at Jackson Lake, and just looking at the colorful fall colors in the parking lot, we knew we were in for a treat. We'd hiked around Jackson Lake before but this time we decided to check out a new trail.

The route included a section of the PCT, the Blue Ridge trail, and the Rift and Cedar Canyon trails. The entire trip was gorgeous. We were surrounded by beautiful views as well as a colorful array of autumn leaves.

The portion of the route that was new to us was Cedar Canyon, a very green and lush trail. Along the way I found 3 benchmarks.

Stats: 11.1 miles, 2200' gain.

I love Jackson Lake during fall. I was just out there to hike 3N26A: https://www.alltrails.com/explore/recor ... ct-3f68928

I'm not familiar with the Rift and Cedar Canyon trails. Are they near the Boy Scout Trail? I did that in 2019: https://www.alltrails.com/explore/recor ... l-loop--37

That Jackson Lake to PCT area is great and kinda underrated. Maybe that's a good thing!

The RIFT is part of the San Andreas Fault where one can see the tectonic boundary of the right-lateral strike-slip between the Pacific Plate and the North American Plate.

We crossed a fire road then headed into Cedar Canyon trail

Here's my track
We began at Jackson Lake but I started my track a few minutes after starting the hike.
