SIMI PEAK

I hadn't been to Simi Peak for a couple of years. So finally, after the Woolsey fire, my friend and I decided to check it out not knowing what we might find. This was also during the early stages of Covid, during springtime, when it was almost impossible to find a cool hiking spot without large crowds of people. Well, this time we lucked out and had the trails all to ourselves. To add, I had never seen this area looking so very GREEN and beautiful. There was obviously lots of re-growth and lots of wild flowers. Anyways, the best part of the hike was finding two additional benchmarks that were once hidden under brush and rocks before the fires. I always thought there was only one benchmark at the peak. I always searched hoping to find another but failed. Thanks to the fires (not really thankful) I was able to locate all of them still intact on the ridge. Just wanted to let you guys know in case you were interested.
