Grouse Mountain

My lady and I took a Sunday stroll to Grouse Mountain. We parked at the trailhead on Cerro Noroeste Road, southeast of Campo Alto campground. I've been making an effort to explore LPNF this summer, as ANF and SNBF have been overrun with hoards of people due to the lockdown. LPNF is less crowded, at least in the Mt. Pinos area. There was a car at the trailhead, but we didn't see anyone on the trail.
The trail to Grouse is well-maintained and easy to follow. It was hot, even above 7K, but the trees provided much-needed shade. We heard and saw a lot of Blue Jays. Maybe it's mating season or something?
The view from the summit is mostly obstructed by trees, but you can catch a glimpse of the canyons below in a couple of spots, just enough to make it interesting. It's a great place to rest.
After returning to my truck, we drove up to Campo Alto and ate launch at the group campground. A chill day.
