JOSEPHINE PEAK VIA COLBY CANYON

On Monday, I invited two of my friends to hike Josephine Peak. It was a first for them and probably my 7th. Every time I hike to the summit, I see something new. It was a very chilly morning. The temp gauge in my car read 48-degrees and it was 7:45am. I over packed carrying my spikes and wore too many layers. For some reason I thought that there might be a some snow at the saddle or on the peak but, I was wrong. Anyways, as the morning progressed we enjoyed the waterfalls and there was plenty of water in the streams. Once we reached the saddle we took a short break and removed the extra layers. By that time, it was very hot with cool breezes. At the summit there was a strange wooden box. After spending an hour on the summit and having it all to ourselves, lots of people were making their way towards the peak. As we were descending the last mile of Colby Canyond a few young hikers were approaching and they made me so mad!. No social distancing whatsoever! I was irate so I gave them a piece of my mind. They just stared at me as if I was the crazy one and when they passed the three of us who were properly keeping our distance they started laughing at me. Well, let's see who has the last laugh. Despite the young adults who were oblivious to the coronavirus it turned out to be a nice hike.
