This is how you do Sierra Pk!

Whoooohooooo! After attempting this peak two weeks ago and failing, I finally redeemed myself. I read a few trip reports on the various routes ranging between 12-17 miles. I found the shortest route accidentally from my first attempt but didn't realize it. For my second attempt, I invited Justin (who also attempted this peak) and he brought his friend Cisco to join us. This was a redemption hike for Justin and me. I met the boys at 7:30 am on Saturday.
It was a crisp cool morning and the clouds were hovering over Sierra Pks' towers.
It was an exposed trail but a beautiful one with lush, green hillsides and lots of wildflowers. We had to climb 4 firebreaks and each one got steeper and steeper. The descents on these very rocky and slippery and were harder to hike down than the ascent. Anyways using poles, moving slowly and cautiously we all made it down safely.
We had lots of really cool views.
After climbing up firebreak #4, we finally reached Leonard Rd and could see the summit of Sierra Pk.
We took a detour and found an H20 tank, a helicopter pad, and an old fountain.
Sierra Peak summit.
I found two benchmarks and did my obligatory summit pose.
Group summit pose.Damage from the fire.
Stats: straight up the pipeline trail 7.1 miles with 2466' elevation gain.
