Bear at Valley Forge

Last night I was on a night ride of Rincon Road, returning to Red Box. At about 2:00 AM I was taking a quick rest just below Valley Forge, standing in the road. I see a dark shape ambling down the road towards me, so I turn on the light...BEAR! Fortunately, it's a juvenile, about the size of a Bernese dog. I make a bunch of noise and he/she notices me, jumps off the road, and crashes through the brush down to the creek.
PSA: If there's a juvenile bear near Valley Forge, it's a sure bet there are more in the neighborhood. If camping at any of the West Fork SGR camps, please remember to hang your food or use a bear can.
