Monrovia Sawpit trail running

I did a first trail run at Monrovia Canyon park following the fireroad that passes the Saw Pit Dam. Started about 7am on Sunday from Canyon Blvd. Once on the fireroad I did not encounter any human. The golden sunrise shine on the Monrovia peak at 8am was a reward after I slowly reached the second junction of Ben Overtuff trail and the main fireroad. That junction is about 3.5 mi from the gate. I decided to turn back down mixning walking and slow run.

There were some mosquito/fly on the upper part where is near water spring. It was annoying that kept me running down the trail.

Nice! training for Baldy Race?

I'm gonna do it - still gotta register though.

I do alot of indoor running, may try to get out one trail run before the race.

I hope I can make it. I used it as a goal to keep me training.

I haven't register yet, but I think we can register on the same day paying $5 more.
