Since I wondered aloud where everyone was lately, I figured I'd better contribute a post myself. Not nearly as adventurous as Elwood or Richard's TR's, but it's what I got: Chief Peak from Rose Valley in the Los Padres NF.

Nifty. Diggin' Rose Valley Falls, which if I recall is pretty big and a sort of local prize in canyoneering, or so.

Having not spent time in the Sespe region, I don't recall how hard it is to reach the base of the Topatopa Bluffs. Do you happen to know if it's a ludicrous undertaking?

i don't know everything but i do know of two attempts from the top down.

stillman went looking for a route:

and i remember reading about a party of three that made it from top down somewhere about that time + / - 3 years. brutal. and they would not recommend nor ever do again. it's all brush at the bottom. and we all know the brush hasn't gotten any thinner.
