Here is my initial review of Hillsound Trail Crampons. The review will get updated as I log more miles on them. Does anyone have any experience regarding the durability of Hillsound products?

I used them a few times and they broke.

But to be fair I'm not using them on snow nor ice. I used (abused) them hiking bare decomposed granite firebreaks.

I do use the Kahtoola ones for this and they last and last

Do you know what version of the Trail Crampons you were using:

Hillsound Equipment’s Winter Traction Devices

I wonder if the FreeStep6s would have been better suited for how you were using them:
– The minimalist spike design means that you can comfortably wear the FreeSteps6 for an extended time, even when standing on hard surfaces.
– For anglers, the eco-friendly FreeSteps6 provides secure grip on rocks and river slime and does not transfer invasive aquactic species when rinsed after use.
