We hiked Bighorn Peak Saturday. Three rams were munching on vegetation above the trail between the Icehouse Saddle and Kelly Camp. Here are a few pictures.

Thank you! The camera was a Sony NEX-7 with the SEL18200 zoom lens. All pictures were taken at the 200mm focal length (300mm full frame equivalent). The pictures started as raw from the sensor - Sony ARW format. Post processing was done in Lightroom 5.5.

So you were carrying a fairly good-sized lens. The camera looks quite portable, though!

Very nice, do you think they are eating the evergreen trees? one photo looks like he has a mouthful of Christmas tree.

The rams were eating those low, next to the ground plants. They would dig them up by pawing with their hooves raising a cloud of dust.

Wow, what beautiful pictures. Professional grade.

Love those animals and they seem to be frequently above that trail. Bighorn mountain was well named.

Fantastic photos, Richard.

Always delightful to watch the bighorns.

BTW, they do eat evergreens (as well as do other things with them ;-)

Breaking my NPBHR pix rule:

Balls? Balls? What balls? I didn't see any balls. Did you see some balls? Where are the balls?
