Ontario Peak on Saturday 11/30

Spent the evening at Kelly Camp on Saturday and dayhiked to Ontario Peak. Snow conditions after the recent rain dumped some snow but the trail was manageable with microspikes. No water at Kelly Camp but had enough snow on the ground to allow us to melt water for our food.

Some photos...

Thanks! The bighorn was definitely a treat...never seen one outside of Mojave...my first one in this area.

The bighorn was really awesome to see up close. Hopefully from the added photos below, you can see how big he was. The amazing part was, he didn't run away as I slowly approached him...he took his time and let me snap away. Really great to see.

Epic shot of the bighorn! He didn't seem the least bit worried about you.

I see a fair amount of snow on the ground. I am planning a trip up Icehouse in a couple of weeks and wondered how much the trails were covered past the saddle.

Could you see the 3Ts trail from the saddle or was it buried?

Just from what you can see from the Saddle, it didn't look like there was a ton of snow/ice on the ground leading to the 3 T's. I'm sure as you climb towards Timber, there would be snow.

If there won't be any rain in the next couple weeks, I'm sure what little snow there is would be melted.
