They caught him at about Foothill and New York and released him up near Mt. Lukens.
Big healthy male. Impressive.

All the way down at Foothill! That cat really was roaming. Marty Wall did a fantastic job. (and I'm sure it wasn't easy with all the crowds watching) Back on Lukens is a good choice I think - the lion will already know where food and water is, and hopefully the hazing of capture is enough to keep him out of the suburbs from now on.

If he shows up on a trail-cam, post up some pics.
His ear-tag is round, silver, and number 2272.

Thank you. I've been watching. About due to check a couple cams in the area, maybe this weekend or early next week.

Nope, got a large male lion on 4/13 and 5/16 on Mt Lukens, but no ear tag. I only have cameras in one canyon though. Anyway, your boy seems to have learned his lesson about wandering around in suburbs!

If he finds a couple natural water sources he'll be OK. It's dry this year. The cat in West Lancaster was kind of a surprise. If they are able to sense water she may have been heading to Apollo Park.
mmm.. Muscovy duck and reclaimed sewage water...
