This is the most likely reason the FS is getting off their A&*^s and reopening more of our mountains!

Press release from the ANF peeps. I can't find the "attached" map on their site or any of the newspaper sites that just re-printed the release without noticing the lack of attachment mentioned. If anyone can find it that would be nice. It appears their clickable zoomable map of the closure area isn't updated yet.

Angeles National Forest Reopens More Land, Recreation Areas

ARCADIA, Calif.—In a major step forward, the Angeles National Forest will reopen on Friday (May 25) about 41,000 acres of land previously closed due to the Station Fire, just in time for Memorial Day weekend.

The reopening covers a broad area of Big Tujunga Canyon extending south of Big Tujunga Dam and offers hiking, picnicking and camping for the forest’s many visitors.

Recreation sites available again to the public include: Stone Canyon Trail, Trail Canyon Trail, and the Delta Flat recreation areas. The reopening is the result of an ongoing recovery strategy that includes community volunteers and partner organizations working alongside the Forest Service to remove invasive weeds, help plant trees and restore trails.

Please see the attached new closure order and map identifying the area to remain closed. You can also visit the Angeles National Forest website, by doing a search for the Forest name, for a map of the areas open and closed.
