Ben Overturff Trail: 05-19-2012

Hiked up the Ben Overturff Trail in Sawpit Canyon to Deer Park, being inspired by MikeP's recent TR. Parked outside of the park near the intersection of N. Canyon Blvd. and Ridgeside Dr. (there was parking and access control due to some kind of fountain-to-falls race today but they let me in because I was going to Deer Park and was not going to be in the way).
Started a little after 6 in the marine layer. Once on the Ben O. Trail you are pretty much in the shade and surrounded by the sounds of running water the entire hike up to Deer Park. Took road back down for a nice loop.
Found a tick crawling around on my neck when I got home, but it hadn't dug in yet. Dang things aren't easy to squish either! Grrr...
