I went up Baldy and back today from Baldy Village with Jay Olsen. There is nothing extraordinary about that, but I have not posted a trip report in a while and felt like... well... why not?

That summit flag and pole are taking a beating, it was standing straight up at 9:45 PM on Tuesday night when Yeti and I left the summit.
By the way what was your name again
JK
Glad to see you posting again

Thanks for the info, Alan. I was wondering how white things were up there: not very

Yeah, for more white, I guess we need to wait for another round of snow. On the other hand, I was totally unprepared for snow, so the conditions were not much to complain about.
It is a real challenge to maintain a flag on top of Baldy -- the wind is pretty relentless.

Thanks for sharing. I've never been up the Bear Flat trail and have been meaning to give it a try for some time now.

Hey dude, thanks for the TR!
Summit flags just don't last long no matter where they are. There used to be one on Hastings Peak (~4000') that never lasted more than a month or two at the very most.

What a difference a week makes. Here is the flag on October 1.

I was also up there on the first, after zero visits in September.
