I'm planning on going on a very large loop once the area officially opens next week. The trip date isn't set yet, just seeing if anyone is interested in a weekday hike from the 16th - 20th.

Starting / ending points will be chantry flats parking lot.

The route will traverse the Gabrieleno trail to spruce grove, up to Newcomb Saddle, down to DeVore campgrounds, up the Kenyon DeVore trail to MT Wilson, down to Hoegee's, and finally Upper Winters creek back to Chantry.

Total mileage estimate 19.7 miles:

Chantry > DeVore campgrounds: 7.2 miles
DeVore campgrounds > Wilson: 5.5 miles
Wilson > Chantry: 7.0 miles

Elevation Gain/Loss (in feet) estimate:
5250' Gain
4900' Loss

Heh, I'm not that fast of a hiker. I'm planning on it taking up the majority of the day around 9-10 hours.

Looks like I'll have to postpone this trip till I get back from texas in 4-5 weeks. I haven't found anyone willing to hike it :(
