The two sides of Mt Wilson via Chantry flats 03-28-11

Got out with Matt C. to head up the Sturtevant trail to Wilson from chantry flats. Once at the top we decided to make it a loop and decend down to manzanita ridge and down to the upper winters creek trail back to chantry flats.
Lots of beautiful views on the hike of the baldy range on the east/northeast slope and cloud cover on the south/southeast slope. Snow was powdery and sludgy at around 4500' on the sturtevant trail all the way to Wilson, and on the Trail down to the toll road it was slushy/icee melt but the snow was almost gone by the time we reached the connecting trail down to manzanita ridge.
Everytrail and the iphone only recorded about 13.6 miles Matt's gps recorded almost 15 miles which sounds more accurate.
