Just wondering what places are best to avoid as far as people breaking into cars. Going to start planning some overnighters with the family and just want a heads up.
TIA

about the only place i can think of where you're car
might not be broken into might be in front of a sheriff's station
otherwise do not leave
anything of value in you're vehicle
I'd leave the doors unlocked, some trailheads I leave a note that the doors are unlocked. Don't smash the window. If you find something of value it is likely of less value than the glass.
This in english and spanish
if you're concerned about the vehicle it's self, I have wheel locks and the hood is chained closed and locked.
good luck!

this would be one place - chumash trailhead @ pch - near mugu rock.
also anywhere in matilija canyon, ojai ranger district - notorious for breakins.

So does the East fork Personally had a window smashed (nothing taken!) and seen many others. That being said, it doesn't stop me from going.

CA may be more tolerant, but the
price of vigilantism in AZ can be high indeed.

Well, in that AZ case, it doesn't pay to fund your vigilante squad's operations by robbing someone and then killing them. The actual murders were not an act of vigilantism.

Correct. A true vigilante leaves out the robbery part and avoids killing 9-year old kids. The price of doing that can still be high, of course.
