John Long

We were at Rockreation in West LA on Sunday (took my son there to have some fun) and as I was putting on my harness I turned and saw a familiar face sitting right next to us, it was John Long. He was talking with one of the instructors there. I said hello and we introduced ourselves to him and ended up talking about his book (How to Rock Climb) which I am reading right now -- really nice guy. What a coincidence! I would have not recognized him if not for the recent DVD I was watching where he was giving an interview in regards to Alex Honnold's Free Ascent of the "Regular Northwest Face" at Half Dome:
