Jody and her gang (yes, I'm on to her gang as well now - namely Marty Dumpis) do not like Millard Campground. Since they cannot find a good enough excuse to decommission it at this time, they have closed the main attraction - the falls. The BS reason is that the boulders lodged at the top of the falls, the ones that have been there for a very long time (as evidenced by century-old photographs and the erosion of said rocks), might come crashing down at any time.

This kind of thing happening in The Angeles (and elsewhere) is not just about a "nanny-state" mentallity, and it is not about just the ambulance chasers... more on that later.

Oh, for cryin' out load.  Those boulders have been there for freaking ever.  The only thing that's going to move them is an earthquake or maybe a gigantic flood.  If you're in that grotto in an EQ or flood, you've got a lot bigger things on your mind than those boulders.

Due to the recent storms, this trail is all jacked up again. After the water level goes down, stream crossings won't be so bad, but there is a section of deadfall that requires some log-hopping. The FS has abandoned this route, so don't expect it to be restored.
