Went to Baldy today, it was nice to see Ernie and his friend, also saw Mark Irving,Norma and Patrick on there way up when I was coming down.

I went up the main bowl today and was wondering what is the best sole for shoes to go up the chutes, I had on my merrells on and was wondering if this is the right soles to have on or is lug better..I'm still new at this only my 2nd dry chute hike up so looking for answers..

Wait... dry? I think you're screwed regardless. I'm surprised anyone goes up it in the summer. I think the only thing that helps is a pair of gaiters to keep the rocks out.
