I have a few recommendations too, like... actually fighting the fire when it begins and not waiting until it covers half the fucking mountain range before we get serious.
The powers that be treated the Station Fire like the Lakers treat an overmatched playoff opponent.

Just passing along the news story in this forum, but if you investigate a little you'll find that you are preaching to the choir as far as I'm concerned.

Oh I know - I follow your blog, I just wanted to chime in and maybe work a Laker reference in there.

Oh please, so you're satisfied with the job done on the Station Fire? Anyone with any questions, comments, concerns, etc., is just arm-chair quarterbacking? What about the fire-fighters on record questioning the decision making of the higher-ups?

Oh. Shoulda figured that from the other thread - MtnMan I'm not bashing the forest service, I just refuse to believe that was really the best we could do on the station fire. If it was, well then we're not going to have any forest left next time.

When you get politicians running the show, this is what happens. It would be best to learn from mistakes and move on. That of course would be in a perfect world.

We need a network of sprinklers throughout the Angeles Nat'l Forest to prevent forest fires.

You must be insane... A fire department fighting a fire...
These guys (the fire managers) are more like the fire department in "Fahrenheit 451" than any fire department in the real world.
It just proves my opinion that the Angeles does not attract the "cream of the crop" to it's ranks starting with Norion
Worst supervisor ever!
