An 18-year-old Millbrae woman accidentally fell from a cliff in San Diego and died Valentine's Day weekend, officials said Tuesday.
The woman, who has not yet been identified, likely was hiking Saturday at the Torrey Pines cliffs when she fell about 50 feet, said Maurice Luque, spokesman for the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. Police think she was alone.
"It's kind of tragic," Luque said.
Two people walking on the beach Sunday afternoon spotted the woman's bluejeans 80 feet up on the cliff. Authorities later used a helicopter to retrieve her body. About a month ago, a man visiting from the East Coast died in about the same spot, Luque said.
