This looks like a good area for doing a bit of trail running - grand opening is this weekend.

I finally went and ran the 3.3 mile loop in the North Etiwanda Preserve after work yesterday. It's a nice loop - the elevation gain is about 650', which mostly occurs before you hit the 1.25 mile marker if you follow the trail the way the arrows go.

This is one of my new favorite runs. I've been running it once a week for the past month or so. I have a nice 4.5 mile route. I take it up to the gauging station at the base of Day Creek canyon and back.
I also ran into a couple guys who had just gone up to the Etiwanda falls. Did not seem too tough. That is going to be my next route to try as I have never been up there. There are quite a few variations to the basic loop.
