Sespe Wilderness Exploratory Hike 8/25/09

my friend Camille had spied a peak on a recent hike that she wanted to attempt. with myself, her husband Robert and her friend Don we went to give it a try. unfortunately, the brush proved too thick to get-through on the east slope we attempted. there is a steeper south rocky ridgeline, that might make this summit attainable. but alas, we did not have enough time left to climb the summit from there and hope to go back.
it was a HOT day out there even as close to the ocean as we were. we could see the smoke from the Santa Barbara County La Brea fire, we had a bear sighting, lots of Horned Lizards to photograph and loads of laughs.
another great day in the mountains, though as i write this, so sorry to see what is happening in the Station fire.
