With the highs to be in the 80's to 90's this weekend in the higher elevations i was wondering what trails you guys have been on that make good Summer Hikes? Lots of shade/breezy trails? Mostly every thing in the front range in exposed =(

Icehouse Canyon to the Wilderness Sign. It's pretty short (less than a mile?), but it's cool and shady.

The Pacific Crest Trail north of Big Bear Lake. It runs along the north side (shady side) of the ridge that separates Big bear Lake from Holcomb Valley, and has quite a bit of tree cover. Lots of entry points - Holcomb Valley Road just north of Baldwin Lake, Van Dusen Road, Cougar Crest Trail, Poligue Road (Holcomb Valley cutoff), Fawnskin Road. I've spent a few weekends this spring/early summer revisiting the peaks on that side of the lake, and most are easily accessed from the PCT. You'll find its pretty quiet right now since the thru-hikers passed by in April/May. No water sources, so bring what you need.
Might also look int the PCT on the back side of the San Gabriels Mtns, too.
