OK Bear Canyon is out.

Gonna' do Stockton Flats to Baldy Notch and possibly Baldy or Thunder this weekend. What are the snow conditions on the north side of Baldy? Thanks.

Ooh. In the "pick a random ridge" spirit, how about Stockton Flats to Telegraph via its north ridge?

There should be nothing on-route. That said, north side of Baldy, I heard there's some snow.

Here's a recent report of skiing the north slope of Baldy/West Baldy.

Yikes! From Stockton Flats I would have to go over a ridge into Coldwater Canyon then up Telegraph's north ridgeline.

Oops. You're right, I was one canyon off.

Start at point "A" on this map, and go up to "B" etc.

I was actually thinking of doing a hike up over Telegraph and down its' north ridge, heading out to minor peaks north of there, if anyone holds interest...

Hey Hikeup, instead of a random ridge, how about a random gully? I want to descend the gully from the Telegraph-Thunder saddle to IHC. Want to go?

Thanks! Sounds like fun, but I am helping Chicken Legs (he doesn't post here often) get over an injury so we need to keep it easy.

I hiked Mt Baldy yesterday 5/14

Took plenty of photos including a 360° panorama

Haven't been up there in ages! but 2hr 45min seems respectable

Enjoy!
Matt

I just realised the 'Stockton Flat' part of the thread.

If you go up from Stockton to the notch, it's a very easy road. Zero obstacles, very easy, much like the road up from Manker Flats.
