Ski Hut / Backbone 3-27 Lost Garmin

Solo on Friday with a late start from Manker at about 10:00. Found a couple of spots where the snow was firm enough to try out the new crampons and axe (especially the descent from the summit to the Backbone). One spot on the Backbone was pretty challenging with a snow bank covering the trail, crumbly rock high overhead and a very steep gravel slope almost to Palmdale below.
Hate to admit I deposited my etrex legend somewhere along the route Took a few pics before the battery died, but none come close to the outstanding photography I've enjoyed on other's posts here. Overall, a beautiful day to be on the mountain (but aren't they all?).
