Did you go up Rattlesnake AW?
Nope...my mobility is better...so I can eventually get uphill, but its like NHPS on steroids.
The burnt part is obvious sight. I went elsewhere. Was it closed? Idk...Im crazy remember.

Video of EFork parking lot....
Gotta love the people who "passed" the barricades and parked inside the lot.

If you're going to bungee cord jump off the bridge then you're allowed in and maybe those are the people parked there. What I find funny is that people are parking just outside and walking in which is not allowed as it is in a closure area. I'm sure it is impractical to enforce as some hikers are in there legally and others are not which makes no sense but there it is.

Bridge Fire Closure Lifted
I just stumbled across this on the Angeles National Forest website:
"The Bridge Fire Area Closure (Forest Order No. 05-01-25-12) that was in effect from June 5, 2025 through May 22, 2026 has been terminated starting June 20, 2025."

Oh wow. I guess the whole thing is lifted?? Wonder why it was so much faster this time. The (sparse) order:

Funding cuts leading to a lack of resources to enforce the closure? New science surrounding fire recovery? Faster than expected trail repairs? Weird.
Maybe Eaton fire closure will have a similarly accelerated timeline? I'd be rather happy about that.

FS deciding they won't do anything to help out in CA? OK with them now if the area is trashed and/or never recovers.
Sure, we all think that some of the closures were unwarranted and that's probably true. Opening everything up will lead to plenty of damage to the area, without clearly defined trails folks will wander everywhere, cut switchbacks, trample new growth etc etc. Plus a non-zero number will likely get injured or worse out there because they slid down a hillside while doing some or all of the above.
